Workshop Description
Students make a Hoodie, working with stretch fabrics (recycled sweatshirting or loopback jersey)

Stitch/4B17/18.
Learning Objectives:
This workshop teaches students how to use the Overlock, Coverseam and Chain stitch machinery
necessary in the construction of garments in stretch fabrics.
Workshop Level:
Fashion Textiles level 5
Pre-requisites/Skill Levels/Workshop Preparation:
Basic health & safety induction to the area and industrial machine induction must have been completed to attend this workshop
Students must bring:
Fabric shears and pins and headphones.

1/2 day

Workshop Content 1:
Changing the threads on the overlocker Using stretch machinery, understanding stretch fabrics. Using the differential feed to put on rib cuffs and waistband. Eyelets, cords, lined hood, stopping the back neck from stretching, creating 'hanger appeal' Using the Coverseam machine to sew pockets on flat. |
